Richard's Thoughts

No man is an island, entire of itself
Each is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.

                                                             John Donne

We all live our lives individually, responsible for our own thoughts and our own actions.  And yet we are each connected to those around us.  We are directly connected to our families and friends, the people we see and work with every day, the people we talk to and know in our our town, our own locale.  But we can also be connected to others who are half a world away.  Through our church we have a connection to the people of another continent, whose lives are very different from our own.  We can have an effect on their lives and they in turn can effect our own.  We are instructed to love God and to love our fellow man, and so we go forth in this spirit of love to renew and strengthen connections already present, and to forge new connections both here and across continents.
